What a Roller Crimper Does

It rolls over cover crops—like rye, clover, or vetch—crimping (creasing and flattening) the stalks at regular intervals. This action kills the plant naturally by crushing the stems, stopping regrowth while leaving the roots in the soil.

🌾 Why Farmers Use It

  • Weed Suppression: Crimped cover crops create a natural mulch layer that blocks sunlight from weeds.
  • Soil Health: Keeps soil undisturbed—preserving structure, moisture, and microbial life.
  • No-Till & Organic Ready: Ideal for regenerative and organic farming systems where chemical herbicides are limited or avoided.
  • Time & Fuel Savings: One pass over the field can terminate crops and lay down mulch—no plowing or spraying needed.

How a Roller Crimper Works

           Mounted & Ready

  • The crimper attaches to the front or rear of a tractor. It's also available in trailed folding models
  • It’s often used in a single pass at planting or after planting.

          Rolling Over the Cover Crop

  • As the crimper rolls, the blunt blades press and crease the stems of the cover crop at regular intervals.
  • The chevron pattern keeps the machine from bouncing and ensures full, even crimping.

          Crimping, Not Cutting

  • Unlike mowing or tilling, it doesn’t cut the pla

Crop Rotation

We use crop rotation techniques to prevent soil erosion and improve soil fertility. By alternating different crops, we can also reduce the risk of pests and diseases and improve crop yields.

Cover Cropping

Our cover cropping services involve planting cover crops such as legumes and grasses to improve soil health and fertility. Cover crops also help control weeds and reduce erosion.

Integrated Pest Management

We use an integrated pest management approach that combines different methods to control pests, including biological control, crop rotation, and cultural practices. This helps reduce the use of chemical pesticides and protects the environment.
